About

FRY’S IN THE COMMUNITY

Fry’s Food Stores is proud of its investments in the Arizona community, because we care deeply about the places in which our Customers and Associates live and work. Our strong community partnerships have been acknowledged by our customers, associates, media and various constituents. In 2015 Fry’s received several awards including Assistance League Phoenix “Certificate of Appreciation”, Packages from Home “Certificate of Appreciation Award”, Down Syndrome Network “Sponsorship Award”, and Valle del Sol “Mother of the Year Sponsorship Award”.

Our Community Investments Include:

➢  FRY’S COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM

To date, Fry’s has contributed 4 million dollars to the Fry’s Community Rewards program, with an additional 2 million dollars to be donated the end of August 2015 to participating organizations. When the 2014-2015 cycle concludes this August, more than 2,400 participants including nonprofits, schools, churches, synagogue groups, youth sports (not affiliated with schools), and animal support groups have received a rebate check.

➢  HUNGER

All 119 Fry’s Food Stores support our company’s Perishable Donation Partnership (PDP) program, which provides donated, perishable food to participating local Feeding America food banks (St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, United Food Bank, Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and Yuma Community Food Bank). In the past 12 months, Fry’s has donated more than 3 million pounds of food to feed the hungry. Donations include items that are not typically included in food boxes, such as bakery, meat, deli, packaged produce, frozen foods and more. Many of the items such as meat (protein) and dairy are in high demand for emergency food boxes.

➢  HELPING TO FIND A CURE FOR BREAST CANCER

Fry’s is a statewide VIP Sponsor for Komen Central and Northern Arizona, as well as Komen Southern Arizona Race for the Cure. To date Fry’s has donated more than $2.2 million. Additionally, Fry’s participates in its annual Sharing Courage Campaign.

➢  SUPPORTING EDUCATION

Fry’s has joined forces with FIELD TRIP FACTORY to educate Arizona children, by inviting local area classrooms to tour a Fry’s store in the Be a Smart Shopper! program. Children are engaged in interactive activities throughout the store, which allows them to discuss nutrition and sample healthy food. Last school year, Fry’s provided 457 tours to 8,482 students and teachers. For more information about this free program, visit www.fieldtripfactory.com.

➢  RAISING FUNDS AND HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS

Fry’s Food Stores donates generously to several worthy nonprofits and schools throughout Arizona. We also help raise funds through coin box contributions, campaigns for charity partners such as Special Olympics Arizona (more than $62,000 raised), various community drives (e.g., nonperishable food items, school supplies) and much more. In addition Fry’s contributes to the community through many volunteer projects throughout the year.
